Shoot Proposal

From the Monki brand research, I know that they are daring, fun and youthful, in terms of their models poses and colours. I found inspiration in my work place, in which there is a whole wall of fake flowers scaling from black, to white, and everything in between. Which lead me to my season choice of Spring/Summer 2016. I am going to photograph the wall in different sections where I will then style the models outfit, matching the colour of the flowers behind them. I will use fun model poses to portray the youth of the brand. I wish to use this concept to link my shoot and GIF together as one. I am going to photograph the model separately to the location, and photoshop the two shoots together, giving the effect the model has been wall papered on.

Trend

After looking at trend reports for Spring/Summer 2016, I decided the trend I’m going to use throughout my 5 styled images is Suede. I think the contrasting textures between the flowered back ground and the suede garments will have a fun balance, keeping with the Monki slogan “puts the smile back in fashion”.

Styling

Keeping the quirky, minimal style of monki, my model will wear minimal, suede garments in colours matching the flowered wall. I will style this outfits with hand made accessories, such as flower lensed sunglasses, giant flower earrings and holding flowers between the teeth covering parts of the face for that flirtacious and fun vibe.

After analyzing the site, I found that their models are very young, aged between 17-21, they have very younique features, such as freckles and gap teeth. There seem to be 3 types of models on their site. Pale blonde, pale brunette and asian models. The model I want to use will be blonde, with medium-long hair and pale skin. She will be aged between 17-21. She will be of a slim build.

The model will give a cool and flirtatious vibe, creating interesting shapes and lines with the body while playing with accessories.
